What Does an Eyelet Machine Do?
An eyelet machine is a specialized textile device that can reinforce and create eyelets in a single motion. Stoppers will hold the fabric in place on the back and sides, and automatic machines can move the fabric along. The hopper will then contain the loose metal grommets, allowing a metal finger to rotate around them, gather them, and then be inserted into the fabric. A cutting or perforating die is then used to punch a hole into the fabric for the eyelet to sit in. Then, a hammer applies pressure to the eyelet, pushing it into the setter and, in turn, securing it in the hole.
Which Should I Choose?
Pneumatic eyelet press machines are better if you’re looking for a less expensive option than automatic eyelet press machines, and if you are low on space, as they are more compact. However, an automatic eyelet machine offers a faster and quieter experience, and it doesn’t require an air supply.
